Summer is the School Principal's time to prepare for the upcoming school year.


Here is a short list of a School Principal''s Summer Leadership Actions.

Balance

  • Rest & Rejuvenate

  • Learn something new

  • Spend time with family and friends

Preparation

  • Review & Analyze student achievement data.

  • Create classroom rosters

  • Prepare to order learning materials, including curriculum materials and textbooks, copy paper, art and PE supplies

  • Plan the Back-to-School staff professional development schedules, decks and supporting materials

  • Plan Open House dates, schedules and materials

  • Create and communicate Leadership Team roles and responsibilities for the new year

  • Create and communicate room assignments


Communication

  • Publish and share School Supply Lists with parents and local community organizations and businesses

  • Mail final report cards to students/parents

  • Create and share Student & Family Back-to-School letters

  • Create and share School Staff Back-to-School letters
